BOC sets auction in Port of Manila; eyes P13.6-M in revenue

MANILA — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is expected to earn more than PHP13 million in additional revenue with the sale of 12 lots of different items in a public auction at the Port of Manila (POM) next week.

According to POM Auction and Cargo Disposal Division, the sale of various units such as equipment, plywood among others, will be held on September 17 at 2 p.m. and September 21 at 10 a.m. at 3rd Floor Collector’s Conference Room, POM Building, Port Area, Manila.

More than PHP13.57 million are expected to earn as the BOC will bid out a total of 12 lots – five lots on Monday and seven lots on Friday.

On September 17, 23 40-foot containers of insulation flat panel with a total floor price of PHP5.361 million are up for bidders and a unit brand new XGMA payloader and a unit brand new XGMA forklift pegged at PHP1.346 million.

Also up for bidding are six 40-foot containers of plywood with a floor price of PHP1.205 million.

Other goods include 1×40 container containing approximately 900 packages of Westinghouse rice cooker valued at PHP284,394.50, and three brand new units of steel cabin for construction equipment worth PHP186,760.

On September 21, POM will bid out seven lots of various goods including the PHP2.520 million worth of two units used international 10-wheeler tractor heads, and PHP1.253 million worth of one unit used excavator.

Other merchandise to be auctioned includes PHP421,694 worth of various assorted items such as Shure Wireless System, card reader, notebook keyboard, cellphone screen guard, coin purse, power inverter, solar module, assorted bags, microphone jack, closed-circuit television (CCTV), and capacitors, among others.

Also the POM will bid out 1×40 container of machine glazed paper with a floor price of PHP431,412.67; 1×40 container of empty glass bottle valued at PHP181,723.76; 1×40 container of lamp pole pegged at PHP375,279.20; and one unit used Mercury Cougar XR7 model 1969, body only, amounting to PHP6,297.36.

The public viewing of merchandise will be on September 14 and 19 at the Asian Terminal Inc-Container Yard (ATI-CY), South Harbour, Port Area, Manila.
