ILOILO CITY — Another drug surrenderer was killed by two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects in Ingore village, Lapaz Iloilo City on Friday night.

The victim, Rolando Puda Jr., 41, succumbed to six gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body, said Chief Inspector Ariel Pico, chief of police of Lapaz Police Station, in an interview on Saturday.

The incident came hours after a drug surrenderer was also gunned down by four unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects in Zone 5, Calumpang Village, Molo, Iloilo City around 9:30 a.m.

Pico said Puda was shot while standing on the street around 7p.m. “He was brought to the West Visayas Medical Center but later died,” he said.

Recovered from the crime scene were six empty shells from undetermined firearm.

Pico said that Puda was on their drug watch list but surrendered during the “Oplan Tokhang” in 2016.

However, he said that Puda has a pending complaint of grave threats and illegal possession of firearms after he allegedly slapped and pointed a gun at a 69-year old woman in 2017.

He added that Puda was also charged with theft last 2010 but was able to post bail.

Pico said that Puda’s previous cases might be the reason behind the fatal shooting.

Investigation is still ongoing to identify the suspects.
