Mark your calendars for September 8, because Stephen Curry will be visiting Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena to make an appearance at the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) opening. National University, this season’s host of the UAAP, said, “Stephen Curry will be at the #UAAPSeason81 opening to inspire UAAP athletes and sports fans!”

The two-time National Basketball Association (NBA) Most Valuable Player (MVP) will be joined by former 2NE1 member Minzy, who is also set to make an appearance. Local artists James Reid and Spongecola will be treating the audience to a performance.

After his successful tour back in 2015, Curry is back in Manila as part of his Asian tour where he’ll be promoting the new Curry 5 signature shoe which is produced by Under Armour. He will also be going to Tokyo, Japan and Wuhan, China for the Asian leg of the tour.

Afterwards, he will be visiting fans both in Paris, France and London, England.  On their social media, the brand announced to Filipino fans, “Finally, the wait is over. 3x NBA Champ, 2x MVP, the one and only Stephen Curry is coming to Manila, Philippines on 7 Sep!” For those that purchase the Curry 5 or the Curry 5 Tour shoes, fans will be treated to two lower box tickets of his tour show. Besides the UAAP opening, Curry will also make an appearance during the Under Armour 3×3 championship.

When reminiscing on his last visit to the Philippines, Curry shared, “Manila was so energetic. The arena that we went to was loud. So many fans in there and to know that I had that much support in there was really special.” A video was recently released with Stephen Curry in the airport ready to depart for Manila. In the video, he says, “First stop, we’re going to touch down in the Philippines and I’ll see you, fans. I’m looking forward to it – it’s going to be great! Coming soon!”
