KathNiel’s ‘The Hows of Us’ reaches over P70 million on its 2nd day
Despite competition from Hollywood movies like “Crazy Rich Asians” starring Constance Wu, Henry Golding, and a cameo role of the Philippines’ “Queen of All Media” Kris Aquino, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo’s newest film made an incredible start as it grossed over P70-million just a day after it opened in cinemas nationwide.
As of August 30, Thursday, Star Cinema announced on its Instagram account that KathNiel’s “The Hows of Us” earned a whopping P70, 755, 736.11.
“Naguumapaw po ang aming pasasalamat sa lahat ng nanood at manonood pa ng kwento nina Primo at George! Maraming, maraming salamat po (Our gratitude to everyone who watched and those who are planning to watch the story of Primo and George is overflowing. Thank you very much)! #TheHowsOfThankYous,” the Star Cinema said.
On its opening day, August 29, the film has already earned an enormous P35.9 million.
This is by far the couple’s highest opening-day gross. Kathniel set a new record as their new movie surpassed their passed films like “Can’t Help Falling in Love” with P33-million and “Crazy Beautiful You” with P32-million on its opening day.
After hearing such good news, Kathryn and their film’s director Cathy Garcia-Molina, on Thursday, expressed their happiness and thanked their fans and those who supported their latest release.
Their fans, meanwhile, also congratulated the whole production and even shared their thoughts about the movie.
Netizen @htmsaed commented, “Woaaahhh pano nalang sa Saturday? Halos lahat ng tao sa school namin manunuod (what more on Saturday? Almost everyone in our school will watch).”
“Had the pleasure of being interviewed by a reporter to comment on the latest kathniel movie… All I can say is The Best KATHB movie so is Daniel’s,” said @str8thrumyheartsitutoyvgnda.
Instagram user @nicodelapaz20 also added, “Kathniel proves that they still the biggest and undisputed longest running reign loveteam of this decade!!!!”
“The Hows of Us” tells the story of a couple with different career aspirations and how they deal with the struggles of being in a long-term relationship.
George (played by Kathryn) dreams to become a doctor, while Primo (played by Daniel) is a member of a rock band aiming for stardom.
Also part of the cast are Darren Espanto, Jean Garcia, Susan Africa, Ria Atayde, Kit Thompson, and Juan Miguel Severo.
