Trillanes challenges Duterte for an IQ test

After the President’s response to his “worst president this country ever had” statement, Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV then challenged President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for an intelligence quotient (IQ) test.

“Just to settle the matter, I am challenging Duterte to an IQ test. Kahit plus 10 pa siya, ‘pag mas mataas score niya sa’kin, mag-re-resign ako sa pagka-Senador (He can have a plus 10, if his score is higher than mine, I will resign from the Senate),” Trillanes wrote on Twitter on Monday, August 27.

Siya nga itong wala ng maisip na solusyon sa mga problema ng bayan kasi aminado siyang mahina ang kokote niya (He is the one who cannot think of a solution to the problems of the country because he admits that he has a slow brain),” the senator added.

This was Trillanes’s statement versus Duterte who was at the Libingan ng mga Bayani to commemorate National Heroes Day, and was speaking to reporters when he was asked to react to his critics’ statements after he appointed Teresita Leonardo-De Castro to be the next Chief Justice.

Trillanes who was among those who issued his statement opposing Duterte’s decision was a special mention from the Chief Executive.

Duterte questioned how the senator was able “to survive PMA (Philippine Military Academy) given his character, his mouth, and his low IQ.”

This was days after Trillanes’s tirade also on Twitter, in which the senator said that if the President was ill, he should go to the hospital, and if he was not, then he should do his job. Trillanes was referring to the health rumors about Duterte.

Ang daming problema ng bayan na ikaw rin naman ang gumawa, tapos patulog-tulog ka lang d’yan sa Davao. Gumawa ka ng solusyon imbes na magpaawa (The country has a lot problems and these were problems that you made, then you are only sleeping there in Davao. Give solutions instead of asking for pity). Truly, you are the laziest, craziest, and the worst president this country ever had,” the senator wrote on Twitter.

Trillanes graduated from PMA in 1995 as a cum laude.
