‘Bayan for Bong Go’ movement launched in Metro Manila

MANILA — A group composed of grassroots organizations was launched in Metro Manila on Saturday encouraging Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Secretary Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go to run for senator next year.
Bayan for Bong Go (B4BG) Movement aims to push President Rodrigo Duterte’s closest assistant to join the May 2019 midterm polls.
The group’s first event in Metro Manila was held at a covered court in Caloocan City, which was attended by 2,000 people from different barangays.
“Itong B4BG (ay) isang movement ng mga mamamayan kung saan-saan galing upang makiusap at itulak si Bong Go na tumakbo sa senado (This B4BG is a movement of the people from various sectors, pushing Bong Go to run for the Senate),” said Enrico “Recom” Echiverri, B4BG national chairman.
“Parang si President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (PRRD) hinayaan niya ang bayan na itulak sya. Palagay ko ganyan din mangyayari dito, si SAP Go, malamang tumuloy tumakbo kapag tinulak ng taumbayan (It’s like PRRD. He let the people push him to run.
I think it’s the same for SAP Go, perhaps he will run if the people push him to),” added Echiverri, a former Caloocan mayor.
B4BG founder Louvkee Fanlo said their group is a national volunteer organization which seeks to “convince Go to run for a senatorial post” next year.
“The organization believes that SAP Go has the qualities, experience and track record to efficiently support the causes and needs of the Filipino masses,” the group said in a statement.
“A powerful and loyal ally of President Duterte, SAP Bong Go can help bring development and progress to the 42,000 strong barangays in the Philippines because he will definitely push for the implementation and success of the various PRRD plans and programs for the Philippines,” they added.
The B4BG, which has been introduced in Davao and Isabela, will be launched in other parts of the country.
