Will the Queen of All Media portray an ‘extra’ role?

Well for her part, Kris Aquino answers one of the queries of her bashers.

Sus 5 second exposure! Dadaan lang camera sa kanya (The camera will just pass by her). Extra! Extra!” mocked a netizen hiding behind the Instagram name anuponpranong.

This was the Instagram user’s words when Kris shared on her personal account that she was invited to the red carpet premiere of the upcoming film Crazy Rich Asians – which she earlier announced that she would be a part of.

Kris – known for responding to people who post flames on her posts and accounts, did not let this pass either. But take note, she did this with class.

“Thank you… it is so difficult to not speak my truth. Because when people actually watch the movie, they’ll know what I mean,” she started saying.

According to the 47-year-old actress, she was firmly given instructions to not say a word about her still-mystery role. Though Kris has most of the time kept her life an open book, up to now, she has been successful in keeping the said role mum.

Here is something that I can tell – it really warmed my heart that really loves all Filipinos who go through a lot in the different parts of the world who may have a small or big position, that I was chosen for this role),” she wrote.

Kasi nga binitbit ko ‘yung ‘identity’ natin (Because I brought our identity) and we owe @kevinkwanbooks a big thank you. He fought for us,” she added.

Kris even said that she never claimed that her role had a long exposure. She, however, noted that it is “very meaningful” and that it would surely bring out the Pinoy Pride.

Similar to imparting an important point in a speech, Kris ended her response with “For all those times we felt judged or looked down upon – this time in Crazy Rich Asians – tayo ang tiningala (we were looked up to).”

She added a #waitlang (just wait) hashtag – still making her readers feel anticipation for her soon-to-be-revealed role.

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN, Kris did give a glimpse of a “princess” role which she mentioned would have two scenes. Other than that, no other details were dropped.

On the other hand, Kris’s main post also said that she was “practically back to zero” when she auditioned for the role on March 25 last year. By June 14 of the same year, the shooting began but her role was still not allowed to be revealed to the public.

She added that she is just waiting for the green light from Warner Brothers Pictures when she can upload her photos wearing her costume – which was a dead giveaway of her role.

Crazy Rich Asians, set to hit the Philippine cinemas on August 22 was based on the best-selling novel by the same name – authored by Kevin Kwan.
