Shooting in Brampton, Ont., leaves one dead

BRAMPTON, Ont. —  A shooting in Brampton, Ont., on Monday evening has left one person dead.

Peel Region police said the victim is a man in his 20s.

Police said gunshots were fired just after 6 p.m. in the area of Airport Road and Countryside Drive.

Const. Iryna Yashynk said the investigation was in its early stages and police were not yet sharing any information about possible suspects.

Yashynk said anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or who has video surveillance is asked to get in touch with investigators.
