MANILA — Nine wage boards have submitted salary adjustments for workers in the private sectors, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Tuesday said.

According to Usec. Ciriaco Lagunsad III, workers in Regions 3, 4-A, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12 and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), are covered by the wage increase.

These regions have already reached the one-year anniversary of their last approved wage orders.

“The nine Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) whose wage orders have passed their anniversary dates issued wage granting wage increases amounting ranging from PHP9 to PHP56 per day,” Lagunsad said in an interview.

The salary increase for workers in Region 3 will take effect on Aug. 1 while Regions 7, 9 and 11 are schedule for publications.

For Region 3, the wage adjustment is at PHP20 on basic pay (BP) while workers in Region 7 will be getting an additional PHP10-PHP50 in their BPs.

Private sector employees in Region 9 and 11 will be getting PHP20 and PHP56.43 in their BPs, respectively.

Lagunsad noted that although Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) and Region 5 have also reached the anniversaries of their wage orders, they have yet to release their respective salary adjustments.

“RTWPBs CAR and Region 5, whose wage orders have also reached their anniversary dates are expected to issue wage orders within the month of July and August 2018,” he said.

On the other hand, the DOLE official reported that six regions, including the National Capital Region (NCR), have yet to reach their anniversary dates.

The one year anniversary for NCR is on Oct. 5, 2018; Region 1, January 25, 2019; Region 2, Sept. 25, 2018; Region 4-B, Sept. 24, 2018; Region 10, July 16, 2018 and CARAGA, Dec. 8, 2018.

“The remaining six RTWPBs, whose wage orders have yet to reach their anniversary dates, are assessing the socio-economic conditions in their respective regions through consultations with concerned government agencies and stakeholders in the private sector,” Lagunsad said.

“RTWPB-NCR, which received two wage petitions for wage increase, is set to meet on July 24, 2018 and will conduct consultations in preparation for the immediate conduct of public hearing once its wage order reaches its anniversary date,” he added.
