Poe unsure of running in the 2019 senatorial race

Consistently topping senatorial polls do not always indicate victory in the actual elections, Poe said as she expressed hesitation in running for a senatorial seat in the 2019 elections.

“I’m running in 2019, if I run in 2019. I’m not even sure at this point,” Poe said in an ANC’s Headstart interview on Thursday.

She cited “personal reasons” behind her uncertainty to run and mentioned plans to first consult her husband, Neil Llamanzares, who was left “traumatized” in the 2016 elections.

She further said that leading senatorial surveys “can’t just be the sole basis” for one to expect a victory because “it just takes one particular issue to change all that,” thus she is not banking on the poll results.

Poe also said that she is more gratified with the approval ratings that are not available to the public, which show how much she is trusted by the Filipino people.
