Lawyer confirms Ellen Adarna gave birth last June 27

Following months of speculation, the legal counsel of Kapamilya actress Ellen Adarna finally confirmed that the latter gave birth last June 27.

Lawyer Rene “Rebo” Saguisag made this announcement at the Pasig Prosecutor’s Office on Monday, July 9, as their camp submitted a counter-affidavit on the child abuse and cybercrime complaint lodged against Adarna by the parent of a 17-year-old teen whom she accused of being a paparazo.

Adarna was sued after she refused to respond to the request of the teenager’s family for a pubic apology.

Myra Santos, the complainant, earlier expressed her dismay on Adarna’s absence on the preliminary investigation, which has been rescheduled a few times already, claiming that the actress was just delaying the case.

Saguisag, however, explained that Adarna was due to give birth during that time that is why she failed to appear in the hearing.

“Actually after the hearing, sinabi namin, nanganak na siya (we said it already that she gave birth), two days after,” the lawyer told reporters as seen in a video posted on YouTube and Twitter by News 5 entertainment reporter MJ Marfori.

“So talaga pong wala kaming dahilan (we have no excuses). Sinasabi nila (They say we), ‘delay.’ Maybe ‘delay,’ for her to be able to have a safe delivery. And in due time, mahirap i-biyahe eh (it is hard to travel). It’s a matter of days pa lang eh,” he added.

Saguisag declined to give further details about the actress giving birth.

Earlier, actor John Lloyd Cruz, Adarna’s boyfriend, addressed rumors as he took to Instagram, showing a screencap of an article saying that the actress’ son has been baptized.

Cruz mentioned the media outlet that published the story in his caption, and wrote, “F— FAKE NEWS.”

The next hearing is scheduled on July 16, but Adarna would still not attend as she is in Cebu and currently recovering from childbirth.
