They say that some things are just not meant to be, but they also say that things happen for a reason. Two cliché sayings combined could have probably summed up Kris Aquino’s relationship with ex-husband James Yap.

On the supposed 13th year of their wedding anniversary, Kris became reminiscent and thankful in a short Instagram post – quite contrary to her usual writings.

Kris on her Instagram, uploaded a photo with the text “She is at a place in her life where peace is her priority and negativity cannot exist.”

“Thirteen years ago today, we made a commitment but fate took us in different directions,” the welcoming caption of her post read.

“Yet together we produced one of my two greatest achievements aka (also known as) Bimb… I sincerely wish you and your growing family peace and lasting happiness,” Kris added, referring to her affectionate nickname for her son James Yap, Jr.

The Queen of All Media then used the hashtags #AnythingAndEverythingForMyBunso and #PeaceInMyHeart which could have indicated that the post was something she did for Bimb.

Kris and James tied the knot in 2005, but separated after five years. They got annulled in 2012.

James now has a son with his Italian girlfriend, Michela Cazzola.

While the two already went their separate ways on their respective personal lives, issues continue to surround them especially those regarding their son.

Just months ago, James’s greeting to Bimby earned an online tirade from his ex-wife.

Alam ko na ang tagal na natin ‘di nakapag-spend ng time together, at ‘di nagkikita (I know we have not spent time together and we have not met each other), but I want you to know that I’m always here for you. I will always be your Papa. I hope you enjoy your birthday,” James wrote in an open letter back in April.

However, Kris wrote back in an Instagram post, citing a previous issue about using their son for publicity for the opening of her ex-husband’s restaurant.

Nanahimik pa rin ako about that, eh humirit ka with your birthday post (I kept silent about that but you had to share a birthday post),” Kris wrote.

She added, “So bakit nga ba hindi kayo nagkikita? Ganito ka simple — wala ka nang pakinabang kay Bimb. Wala na kasi kaming ‘power’ so bakit ka pa didikit? (So why are you not meeting? It is this simple – you have no more use from Bimb. We do not have ‘power’ anymore so why would you still contact us?)”
