Duterte praises Moon’s commitment to achieve peace with Nokor

President Rodrigo Duterte commended South Korean leader Moon Jae-in for his vision to bring “peace, stability and prosperity” in the Korean Peninsula.

After the summit meeting of the two leaders at the presidential Blue House in Seoul, Duterte said Moon manifested his “selfless dedication” when he and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un signed a peace agreement during their historic meeting last April.

Duterte said that the “Philippines is hopeful that positive developments over the past several months will continue and contribute positively toward the goal of the denuclearization in [the] Korean peninsula.”

With this, Moon said, “Duterte’s support will be of great help to us on our journey to establish peace on the Korean Peninsula. Our two countries will further strengthen our cooperation and that goes beyond the Peninsula to uphold peace in the region.
