Forever’s not enough: Sarah’s journey continues
Her tear-stained face and cracking voice may have shocked everyone, but perhaps forever’s not really enough as pop superstar princess Sarah Geronimo continues tracking on her musical path.
At 29, her fans, supporters, loved-ones, and netizens reached by the viral videos saw her breakdown on stage as she sang one of her signature songs, “Forever’s Not Enough” in her “This 15 Me” tour.
Uttering the words “I’m sorry, pagod po ako (I am exhausted)” in Las Vegas, some may have thought that the singer would take a well-deserved break especially after saying that her voice did not seem to be well. But now, she is in New York to continue her tour.
Snapped in Mark Bautista’s Instagram story showed Sarah in a vehicle as they were making their way to a meet-and-greet event with fans. The event also surprised both singers as they were reunited with a co-star from their “Sarah, the Teen Princess” days, Aiza Marquez.
The “This 15 Me” tour is in celebration of Sarah’s 15 years in the industry.
She signaled alarms ringing after her breakdown in Las Vegas, which prompted her to walk out of stage to compose herself first before continuing her performance.
A crying Sarah confessed that she broke down to the pressure of being a “role model” and being “perfect” in the sea of fame.
“It hit me. ‘Yung mga napapanood ko po sa videos ni MJ (Michael Jackson), ‘yung sigawan at kantahan ng mga tao. Minsan may naluluha pa, gusto mahawakan ka lang. Grabe po, I realized na hindi po pala ako handa doon (Those videos of MJ that I have watched, those cheers from the audience as they sing along. Sometimes some of them were even crying, wanting to touch you. I realized that apparently, I am not ready for that),” she said.
She apologized to her audience who expected an entertaining performance after paying for the concert.
In Sarah’s 15 years in the entertainment industry, she did not just concentrate on her singing career as she also starred in various movies and television shows. She was also tapped to be a coach in all the seasons of singing contest “The Voice of the Philippines” and its teen and kids variations.
“Kayo po na patuloy na naniniwala for 15 years. Maraming-maraming salamat po. Forever po akong magiging thankful sa inyo (To everyone who continues to believe in me for 15 years, thank you so much. I will be forever thankful to you),” she added.
