Kim Jong-un is Duterte’s new idol 

Reacting to how the inter-Korean summit turned out, President Rodrigo R. Duterte expressed his new admiration for North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as the latter showed his willingness to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.

“He (Kim) became my idol now. For all of the time, he was pictured to be the bad boy of the community,” the President said upon arriving in Davao from Singapore, where he attended the 32nd ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting.

After the historic meeting of Kim and South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who tackled bilateral relations, peace agreement, and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, the two leaders vowed to end their countries’ longstanding war.

Duterte even said that such scenario made Kim “the man of the hour.”

“I think that to me, the man of the hour would be Kim Jong-Un,” he said.

It can be recalled that Duterte previously lambasted Kim, calling him “crazy” for conducting missile tests.
