Alab inches closer to ABL title after Finals Game 3 win at Mono

MANILA — Alab Pilipinas bounced back from its tough ABL Finals Game 2 loss at home by taking Game 3 on the road from Mono Vampire, 99-93, at the Stadium 29 in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday night.

After Ray-Ray Parks’ explosive game, Alab now hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five finals with an opportunity to finish the Vampires in Game 4 on Monday night also in the Thai capital.

Alab turned up the heat in the third quarter, outscoring Mono, 27-17, to open a 75-67 cushion entering the fourth quarter.

Alab extended the lead to as high as 11 in the fourth quarter and kept the Vampires at bay the rest of the way.

Parks finished with 30 points, the most by a local in a playoff game with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Justin Brownlee added 27 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and one block even as Renaldo Balkman chipped in 24 points, 17 rebounds, seven dimes, four steals, and two blocks.

Mike Singletary dropped 29 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block for Mono.
