NCR keeps Palaro overall champ title

VIGAN, Ilocos Sur — The general championship of Palarong Pambansa stays with the National Capital Region (NCR).

Locking its 14th consecutive overall championship in the Palaro after Friday’s competition, the NCR won 91 golds, 64 silvers, and 47 bronzes. It was way ahead of Calabarzon, which overtook Western Visayas in second place with 52 golds, 43 silvers, and 63 bronzes.

Western Visayas fell to third with 40 golds, 41 silvers, and 48 bronzes, while the Cordillera region stays in fourth with 25 golds, 21 silvers, and 20 bronzes.

Central Visayas came in fifth with 23 golds, 20 silvers, and 27 bronzes even as Soccsksargen also made it to the 20-Gold Club with 21 golds, alongside 21 silvers and 28 bronzes.

The secondary boys’ basketball and the badminton golds are still up for grabs in the final day of the event on Saturday.
