SC orders gov’t to submit all drug war records

Published

on

The Supreme Court (SC) maintained the decision they issued in December 2017 that required the government to release all records related to the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.

During its annual summer session in Baguio City, the magistrates of the SC has come to a decision to turn down the petition of Solicitor General Jose C. Calida to recall its resolution ordering him to submit the said records.

“The Court denied the solicitor general’s motion for reconsideration of the Court’s order dated December 5, 2017 and directed the respondents to comply with the said order by submitting the required reports within a period of 15 days from notice,” SC Spokesman Theodore O. Te announced at a news briefing.

In December last year, Calida was ordered to release copies of police reports and other relevant documents of the campaign against drugs, but the Solicitor General refused as, according to him, it would pose threat to national security.
