BCDA to award P3.5-B SCTEX-New Clark City access road
MANILA — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is set to award the PHP3.5-billion access road to New Clark City from the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).
In an interview Monday, BCDA Business Development and Operations Group Senior Vice President Joshua Bingcang said the SCTEX-New Clark City access road is one of the two major access roads that the government-owned and controlled corporation will award soon.
Bingcang said the access road will open a dedicated eight-lane interchange from SCTEX to the New Clark City — a planned new city in Central Luzon.
He said the project attracted 10 bidders, which include Chinese companies.
“This will be the access for SEA (Southeast Asian) Games next year,” he said in Filipino.
Two sports facilities for the 30th SEA Games will rise in New Clark City within the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC).
Bingcang added that the BCDA will also open the bidding for another major access road that will connect Clark International Airport to New Clark City.
Clark airport is 15 kilometers away from New Clark City. But with the access road, travel to New Clark City from Clark airport will take only 10 to 15 minutes, Bingcang said.
