MANILA — The CEU Scorpions look to secure the first outright semifinal seat in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup when the team battles Batangas-EAC Generals as action resumes on Monday at the Pasig Sports Center in Pasig City.

While the Scorpions own the quotient edge over the Marinerong Pilipino Skippers and the Akari-Adamson Soaring Falcons in case a three-way tie at the top spot ensues, the Yong Garcia-mentored Scorpions want to secure not just the Top 2 spot outright but also the top seed entering the playoffs in their 2 p.m. game against the already eliminated Generals.

“Mas maganda na matapos namin ang eliminations on a winning note para madala namin yung momentum papasok ng playoffs,” said Garcia.

Aside from ending its elimination round stint on a high note, CEU also looks to score a win to pay tribute to Team Manager Jun Tiongco, who died during the Holy Week.

On the other hand, Batangas-EAC aims to score a huge upset to give the team a morale booster ahead of their upcoming collegiate preseason stints.

In the nightcap at 4 p.m., Go For Gold-CSB and AMA collide in a battle between also-ran squads.
