China to prudently explore South China Sea with PH

China’s top diplomat State Councilor Wang Yi said that China is set to advance cooperation with the Philippines on oil and gas exploration in the South China Sea in a “prudent and steady way.

”

“We will enhance maritime dialogue and pursue equal-footed and friendly consultation and in a prudent and steady way advance cooperation on offshore oil and gas exploration,” Wang was quoted as saying in a Reuters report.

This statement of Wang was made after his meeting with Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano.

Moreover, the senator said that Philippines and China are finding a common legal framework to conduct joint exploration and surveys.

Cayetano added that with the discussions he had with Wang, he is confident that a suitable legal framework for the differences will be made.
