MANILA — More than 6,000 jobs were made available at the National Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Enrollment Day of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in its compound in Bicutan, Taguig on Tuesday.

About 70 employers participated in the activity, TESDA Information Officer Nina Dodd told the Philippine News Agency (PNA). Dodd added there were also about 3,000 TVET enrollees, TESDA graduates, and job seekers who joined the event.

TESDA opened the activity for anyone from the National Capital Region. Another job fair is scheduled nationwide in August.

The nationwide TVET enrollment and jobs fair will be done simultaneously in different provinces, municipalities, and districts at the capitols, malls, stadiums, and other easily accessible places.

TESDA said interested enrollees should bring an identification card and 1×1 ID picture, while job applicants should bring their updated bio-data and TESDA certificates.

In a statement, TESDA Director General Guiling Mamondiong said the National TVET Enrollment day aims to step up advocacies for TESDA’s different programs.

Mamondiong said TESDA’s programs and services must reach everyone, especially those in the barangays or the grassroots.

Meanwhile, TESDA also distributed starter toolkits to the beneficiaries of its Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) on Tuesday. (PNA)
