Ginebra smothers TNT in Q4 to join NLEX in 5th

MANILA — Ginebra broke loose in the final 12 minutes to defeat TNT, 93-78, in their crucial PBA Philippine Cup match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Sunday night.

The Barangay outscored the KaTropa, 30-16, in the fourth quarter to pull away for good from a tight match.

LA Tenorio shot 11-of-19 from the field for 27 points with 11 assists, five rebounds, and one steal for Ginebra, which joined NLEX, a 96-89 winner over Alaska earlier Sunday, in fifth place at 5-4.

Greg Slaughter also had a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds along with four assists and two blocks.

Jayson Castro and Kelly Williams each had 17 markers for TNT, which slipped to eighth place at 4-5.
