Twenty-four year-old Vanessa Latefa Pampilo only saw herself singing in front of a camera, for her viewers to see in her Youtube channel. What she did not know is that this love for singing is what will let her conquer the X Factor Denmark stage.

Former an au pair, Pampilo was originally from Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur, and has been living in Denmark for three and a half years.

During Season 11’s 5 Chair Challenge, despite her cold and clammy fingers, her voice resonated and stood out for the judges and audiences which got her a seat in the five chairs.

“This was really good, what you did here, and with all due respect, this performance would take you directly to the finale,” Thomas Blachman, one of the judges said.

Sanne Salomonsen praised her for her “powerful voice with a sound of softness and sweetness.” “You really have the whole package, I believe,” she added.

Remme, her mentor, said that he was confident knowing how great she was as a singer.

Footages of his workshop with Pampilo revealed how nervous she was as she was shaking before a performance in front of everyone. He commented that despite this, her singing was perfect and that she just needed confidence.

“She can do much more than she believes,” Remme said.

The Filipino Channel’s (TFC’s) Balitang Global interviewed Pampilo, in which she revealed that she only joined because she was encouraged after watching her sample videos in her Youtube channel.

“I have never seen myself joining singing contests because I think I’m not good enough. But, at the end of the day, you have to believe in yourself no matter what it takes. Choose the people around you and take good pieces of advice,” she said in the same interview.

She is the first and only Filipina to join the X Factor Denmark’s Boot Camp and get a chair in the 5 chair challenge.
