Moira dela Torre readies for her debut concert
Filipino singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre expressed her excitement as she readies for her debut concert “Tagpuan,” which will be held at the Kia Theater on February 17 and 18.
Moira, during a press conference on Wednesday, said her first-ever concert will be directed by John Prats and produced by Cornerstone Concerts and Bright Bulb Productions.
“There are a lot of surprise guests who are coming both on Day 1 and Day 2. There’s actually one who’s flying in also,” Moira was quoted as saying in an ABS-CBN Entertainment report.
“Also my new songs will be heard for the very first time on that night and there’s also a surprise about the ‘Malaya’ album,” she added.
It was plain to see that Moira is really thrilled for the concert.
“Si Kuya Pratty po overflowing po siya ng ideas. I had him listen to my songs and kuya Sam Milby listened to my songs and because they know the story ang dami na po nilang nai-imagine na kahit ako ay nae-excite na po ako (they imagine a lot of thing that even I, I’m excited),” the Filipina singer said.
Aside from her concert, Moira also signed a contract with Star Music on the same day.
“Tagpuan” is the title of her latest single under Star Music, which will be releasing her brand new album shortly.
“Ako po dream ko po simula pa po ng bata ako (Since I was a child, my dream) is to be part of Star Music family. This is something that I’ve really waited for. Something na hindi pinilit (that can’t be forced). Something that came at the perfect time. So ‘yung tagal po ng hintay (the long wait), I think that included paving the way for it po also,” Moira said.
“Ang ‘Tagpuan’ ay after ng lahat nang pinagdaanan ng songs, ito po ‘yung (the Tagpuan is after all the songs that have been through, this is the) conclusion and this is where you find hope pala. Dati po kasi (before) when I would write song, ayaw kong iiwan sila sa (I don’t want to leave it on) sad state. I want to inspire listeners to feel free to feel their songs but at the same time rise from it and ‘Tagpuan’ is about that,” she added referring to her new single.
Moira hopes to work with KZ Tandingan, Yeng Constantino and Richard Poon in the future.
The singer-songwriter was first seen on the national television when she joined the Philippine version of the American reality television singing competition “The Voice.”
