Prince Albert Police will probe death of man in Pelican Narrows RCMP cell
PELICAN NARROWS, Sask. — An external investigation has been called into the death of a man who was being held in RCMP custody in northeastern Saskatchewan
Mounties say the 44-year-old man was found dead in a cell at the Pelican Narrows RCMP detachment on Monday.
He has not been identified.
RCMP say the Prince Albert Police Service will investigate the circumstances of the man’s death.
Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Justice will also be involved.
The village of Pelican Narrows is 512 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
