Trump consoles Las Vegas

Hours after the horrific shooting spree in Las Vegas, President Donald Trump expressed his grief as he consoled the victims and spoke of how much he despised the incident calling it as an “act of evil”.

He said that in the wake of this massacre, Americans are joined in “sadness, shock and grief” and emphasized the unity of the country especially in moments of tragedy and horror.

“In moments of tragedy and horror, America comes together as one. And it always has. We call upon the bonds that unite us, our faith, our family, and our shared values,” Trump said.

“We call upon the bonds of citizenship, the ties of community, and the comfort of our common humanity. Our unity cannot be shattered by evil, our bonds cannot be broken by violence, and though we feel such great anger, at the senseless murder of our fellow citizens, it is our love that defines us today,” he added.

Trump said that he and his wife, Melania, pray for the day when “evil is banished and the innocent are safe from hatred and fear.”
