Lacson rebuffs Faeldon’s transferal of ethics case

Senator Panfilo Lacson did not welcome resigned Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon’s motion to transfer his ethics complaint to the Committee of the Whole.

Currently, Faeldon’s complaint is put on hold following his refusal to cooperate in the senate blue ribbon committee’s probe on the P6.4-billion worth of drug smuggled at the Bureau of Customs under his governance.

Faeldon’s counsel, aiming to “prevent an impending miscarriage of justice,” has filed an omnibus motion to transfer the ethics complaint to the Committee of the Whole but Lacson opposed, saying that Faeldon has no right to make such appeal.

Lacson said Faeldon has yet to eat more smuggled rice for him to learn. He also accused the former Customs chief of being intrusive in the job of senators.
