Duterte calls for a trio resignation

Published

on

President Rodrigo Duterte claimed that Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno and Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales have submitted themselves to those who aim to destroy and oust him from office and challenged them to resign along with him.

“I challenge the two, we will go to Congress, in a simple ceremony, we sign the letter of resignation. Let’s do it. Then let us open all the books, including yours,” Duterte said.

The chief executive expressed confidence by saying, “I will not die if I lose the presidency.”

Duterte believes it would be best for the three of them to resign all at once because it looks like they are the main cause of trouble for the Philippines.

However, both Morales and Sereno chose to ignore the recent outburst of Duterte.

According to Morales, the Office of the Ombudsman has already stated its position; to abide by its constitutional duty and that there is no need to add more while Sereno didn’t offer comments.
