Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV has filed criminal and administrative charges against Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson at the Office of the Ombudsman on Friday for spreading fake news about his alleged several bank accounts in different countries.

Trillanes filed a total of seven cases, these are 3 counts of violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act for libel, and for violation of the Anti-Graft and Practices Act, violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, and falsification and use of false documents.

Trillanes said he would call for Uson’s “immediate dismissal” from office.

Furthermore, upon filing raps against Mocha, the senator said that “The era of fake news is over. Those who spread fake news will answer to the law. That is what everyone has to learn.”
