Alberta Party interim leader Greg Clark not running for top job a second time
EDMONTON — The interim leader of the Alberta Party says he has decided to not run a second time for the top job.
Greg Clark says he will still defend his Calgary seat in the 2019 election but he wants to spend more time with his family, which wouldn’t be possible if he was leader.
Clark is a first-term MLA and one of two members in the Alberta Party caucus.
Last month, he stepped down as leader so the party could generate interest and support with a leadership race.
Clark will stay on as interim leader until a successor is chosen Feb. 27.
So far, no candidates have formally announced they are running.
