Miss Universe Philippines and Indonesia are ‘good friends’
MANILA, Philippines—Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters and Miss Universe Indonesia 2017 Bunga Jelitha belied rumors that there’s an ongoing “war” between them.
Fans of both Miss Universe contestants have been exchanging heated arguments online, sparking rumors that the two beauty queens are not on good terms.
Peters and Bunga denied these rumors, saying they actually are really good friends.
“We’re close, we’re really, really good friends. We help each other, we share things,” said Peters who is roommates with Bunga, in a video tweeted by ABS-CBN reporter MJ Felipe.
“I think it’s great that they did put us as roommates because we, beauty queens, we are supposed to be role models, so hopefully, we can just show people that there is no war between Indonesia and the Philippines,” she said.
Meanwhile, Bunga said, “I know that so much people (think) that Indonesia and Philippines (are) like (in) something (like) war. But in here, me and Rachelle (are) roommates. Rachelle is so lovely, so helpful.”
“I love Rachel. I want to prove me and Rachel here are best friends,” she added.
The 66th Miss Universe pageant will be held on November 26, 2017 in The AXIS theatre of Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, United States. Ninety two ladies from across the globe will be vying for the coveted crown.
