PNP thanks public for peaceful ‘Undas’ observance

MANILA —The Philippine National Police (PNP) thanked the public for their help and cooperation in ensuring a peaceful and orderly conduct of this year’s activities for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

In a report by state-run Radyo Pilipinas on Friday, PNP deputy spokesperson Supt. Vemily Madrid said the “Undas” observance nationwide was generally peaceful.

Latest reports from the PNP-National Operations Center indicated that only two cases of robbery, one case of alarm and scandal, one direct assault, and one attempted rape were reported during the holidays.

Madrid also lauded the 27,928 police officers tasked to man the 5,897 PNP assistance hubs nationwide, for their efforts in ensuring that the “Undas” holidays remain orderly and incident-free, especially in the cemeteries.

She also thanked the 15,294 PNP road safety marshals for securing passengers returning to the provinces and Metro Manila after visiting their departed loved ones. (PNA)
