Actor and model Redmond Christopher Fernandez Domingo, popularly known as Cogie Domingo, was arrested in an anti-drug operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Friday morning.

PDEA Public Information Director Derrick Arnold Carreon told Inquirer in a text message that operatives from the PDEA-Region IV-A seized an unknown kind and amount of illegal drugs from the actor.

Mary Ann Lorenzo, head of the Public Information Office of PDEA Region 4, told DZBB in an interview that their operatives were conducting an anti-drug operation against a drug pusher when they caught Domingo buying shabu from their target.

“Nagkataon po during the operation na kasama po sa umiiskor ito pong nahuli natin na si Mr. Cogie Domingo [It was coincidental that during the operation, Mr. Cogie Domingo was one of those who were trying to score (drugs)],” Lorenzo said.

Aside from the actor, his wife Ria Sacasas and the original target was taken into PDEA’s custody and will undergo drug testing.

Authorities are having an ongoing follow up operations as of posting.

Domingo, 32, entered the entertainment industry at the age of 13 when he starred in ABS-CBN’s Cyberkada. In 1999, he was casted by Regal Films for its horror flick, ‘Sa Piling ng mga Aswang.’

In 2015, Domingo starrred alongside Tom Rodriguez and Lovi Poe in GMA Network’s television series Someone To Watch Over Me.

Domingo is known for his portrayal of an orphaned boy who was sentenced to death after being convicted of robbery in a 2000 melodrama film Deathrow.
