MANILA, Philippines—Maine Mendoza has returned to Twitter!

After four months of taking a break from the Twitterverse, the actress has finally reactivated her Twitter account to the delight of Aldub fans worldwide.

As a ‘comeback’ tweet, Mendoza shared photos of her and Alden Richards with their fans who call themselves the AldubNation.

Her return to Twitter coincided with the AldubNation Festival 2017, an annual gathering of her and Richard’s fans that started last year. This year’s fest was held on October 22 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

In her tweet on Sunday, Mendoza thanked her fans for their unwavering love and support.

“Thank you very much, AldubNation! Salamat sa suporta at pagmamahal na walang sawa niyong binibigay [Thank you for the support and love that you tirelessly give]!” Mendoza wrote.

It can be recalled that the actress deactivated her Twitter account on June 3 to spare herself from the mean comments a handful of netizens throw her way.

Her last tweets before bidding Twitter goodbye were marked with the desire to “disconnect.”

A day before she signed off, Maine tweeted, “When peace & love are no longer being served; and whenever u find yourself taking in so much negativity, you have to take a break & reflect.”

“Sometimes we need to disconnect to reconnect. Taking a break is necessary to save yourself and others from drowning,” she added in a separate tweet.

Her last tweet, marked with a sad emoticon, read, “I hope we all stop pulling each other down.”

Mendoza and Richards recently starred in ‘Love is…,’ their first telemovie that aired on Saturday. Love Is… was deemed a success with #ALDUBxEBLoveis garnering 1.52 million tweets topping the Philippine trends and ranking second worldwide.
