PDEA-NCR has new director
MANILA — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron Aquino on Friday designated Director III Ismael G. Fajardo as new Regional Director for the National Capital Region (NCR).
Aquino said Fajardo replaced Director III Wilkins Villanueva, who has been designated as head of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service of the Bureau of Customs.
“A lot of work must be done. NCR has the highest rate of barangay drug-affectation in the country. Owing to his vast experience and impressive credentials, I am confident that Fajardo will deliver results of significantly reducing the extent of the drug problem in the region,” the PDEA chief said.
Fajardo served as Director of PDEA Special Enforcement Service (PDEA-SES) from August 2014 until May 21, 2017, when he was appointed as Regional Director of PDEA Regional Office 3.
Before joining PDEA, Fajardo served the Philippine National Police (PNP) for 35 years where he held various vital and sensitive posts. He is a recipient of numerous awards for his superb performance and competence in the field of law enforcement, especially in counter-narcotics.
Fajardo pursued his Master’s Degree in Public Administration at Isabela Colleges from 2001-2003 and completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration in the same learning institution in 2015. He is a licensed criminologist and an alumnus of Philippine College of Criminology.
