DAVAO CITY — Undefeated Filipino boxer Harmonito “Hammer” Dela Torre of Sanman Boxing Gym will challenge fellow unbeaten American Saul “Kid Dinamita” Rodriguez on August 22 at the Sams Town Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

This was announced by Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude “JC” Mananquil, who said Dela Torre prepared well for this fight and will try his best to win for the Philippines.

Dela Torre, who is making his third fight in the US, has been training in Miami, Florida under former Cuban national team trainer Moro Fernandez. The native from Davao City is still unbeaten in 19 fights with 12 knockouts.

“I think this is a good test for Harmonito. We are ready to shock Rodriguez,” Mananquil said. Rodriguez has 21 wins, 15 by knockouts and one draw. He scored 15 straight wins since settling for a draw against Cesar Garcia last October 13, 2012 at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

Dela Torre and Rodriguez will face in an eight-round, non-title duel in the super featherweight division and under the Mayweather Promotions.
