6th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards opens nominations
MANILA, Aug. 3— Nominations for the 6th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards, the country’s biggest real estate awards program, opened Thursday until Feb. 16, 2018.
In a press briefing in Makati City, PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Managing Director Terry Blackburn said the 6th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards added two new recognition for commercial development and three new categories for residential segment.
The sixth year of the Awards now include recognition for Best Township Development.
Blackburn noted that this is unique to the Philippines with the growth of township projects in the country.
He added that the growth in township developments in the country reflected the demand for smart and well-planned communities, wherein there would be lesser time to travel from home to work, given the challenges in the local transportation sector.
Moreover, it will also give the Best Hotel Development award to Cebu projects.
Aside from the aforementioned recognitions, the award-giving body in real estate will distinguish the Best Office Development, Best BPO Office Development, Best Retail Development, Best Hotel Development, and Best Mixed-Use Development.
For the residential segment, the Awards will recognize Metro Manila’s Best Luxury Condo Development, Best High-End Condo Development, Best Affordable Condo Development, and Best Housing Development.
It also added new categories such as Best Mid-End Condo Development and Best Alternative Housing Development.
Blackburn said the award for alternative housing aims to recognize owner-managed properties intended for transient workers, students, and the elderly.
The Awards will also recognize projects outside Metro Manila like Cebu, giving awards such as Best Luxury Condo Development, Best High-End Condo Development, Best Housing Development, and a new category Best Affordable Condo Development.
For Davao, it will be giving recognition for the Best Condo Development and Best Housing Development.
Resorts projects will also be recognized with awards such as Best Condo Development and Best Housing Development.
