Magnitude 4 quake hits Davao Oriental

MANILA — A magnitude-4 struck the province of Davao Oriental on Sunday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs)

In an advisory, Phivolcs said the earthquake occurred at 10:03 a.m., with its epicenter traced at 55 km east of Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.

The tectonic earthquake had a depth of 60 km.

Phivolcs said that there are no expected damages and aftershocks from the temblor.

On Thursday, a magnitude-6.5 earthquake hit Jaro, Leyte, causing casualties and widespread damage in structures in the province and other neighboring areas.
