A preliminary jury will make a short list of submitted proposals for final deliberation. These will then be judged by another panel of jurors. The selected proposal will be announced on Sept. 30, 2017 and will represent the Philippines in the said event to be held in Venice from May 26 – Nov. 25, 2018.

“The selected curatorial proposal will officially represent the Philippines in this important global exhibition platform of contemporary architecture. The 16th Venice Architecture Biennale in Italy, initiated by la Fondazione la Biennale di Venezia, is an international event which will showcase “a critical overview of the worldwide evolution of architecture” and highlights the importance of a qualified demand on the part of individuals and communities that should be met by an equally effective response which shows that architecture is one of civil society’s instruments for organizing the space in which it lives and works.

Irish architects Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara from the firm Grafton Architects will sit as curators of the event.
