Russian PM Medvedev to visit Manila in November
MOSCOW—Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will visit the Philippines in November.
In his bilateral meeting with Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov here Thursday, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said the Philippine government is looking forward to the visit of Medvedev this year for the East Asia Summit.
The Philippines will be hosting the summit as chairman of the ASEAN 2017 Summit.
Aside from ASEAN leaders, the East Asia Summit will gather leaders in the region which include leaders of ASEAN’s six dialogue partners such as Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, South Korea, and India as well as the United States and Russia.
Medvedev visited Manila in 2015 for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
