JAKARTA –The men’s basketball team of Indonesia registered its fourth consecutive win after crushing Vietnam in the SEABA 2017 tournament being held in the Philippines, Monday.

Playing at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Manila, the Indonesian team drubbed the Vietnamese squad with a score 95-52, as updated on the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) website.

Earlier, Indonesia defeated Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

With four victories, Indonesia lead the championship standings with eight points and are followed by the Philippines (host), Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Singapore.

In their match against Vietnam, Indonesian player Mario Wuysang and his teammates gave no leeway to Vietnam to develop their game and subdued them in all quarters of the match. The final score read 19-10, 41-20, 65-37 and 90-52.

The massive victory against Vietnam has not surprised Indonesian coach Widayat Wahyu Jati, who was confident of a superb show by his team.

Next, Indonesia will face Myanmar on Wednesday (May 17) at 2 p.m. local time. Myanmar have not won any of their matches in the SEABA Championship 2017 so far.

The winner of SEABA Championship 2017 will be eligible for the Asian Basketball Championship, which will be held in Lebanon from August 10-20, 2017.
