‘Ulamas’ can foil ISIS recruitment efforts –AFP

MANILA–Muslim religious leaders also known as the “Ulamas” can help in preventing Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorists and sympathizers from settling in Mindanao.

This was stressed by Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla Sunday.

Earlier, community leaders in Mindanao said they need the help of the “Ulamas” to counter recruitment efforts of ISIS and other terror groups.

This can be done by giving the Muslim youth proper spiritual guidance as there are some efforts to recruit the former.
