PNP-CIDG nabs South Korean fugitive

MANILA–Operatives of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG), together with the Bureau of Immigration (BI), arrested a South Korean fugitive in an operation conducted in Alabang, Muntinlupa City on Tuesday night.

PNP-CIDG chief Director Roel Obusan identified the arrested suspect as Oh Seung Jo, 51, and a South Korean national.

The arrest of Seung was effected based on the Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) red notice and the BI arrest order.

He was allegedly involved in an investment scheme which duped his fellow South Koreans in the amount of Php 3 billion.

Seung fled to the Philippines in 2016 and continued his illegal activity.

He used different names and transferred from one hotel to another until he was arrested in Acacia hotel in Muntinlupa City.

He will be turned over to the BI for deportation proceedings.
