DND chief calls CPP ‘delusional’ for tagging CIA in Bohol clash

MANILA –Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Sunday called the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) “delusional” in response to the group’s remarks stating that the military effort to crush the Abu Sayyaf incursion in Bohol last April 11 is a work of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

“The CPP, as before, has become delusional and can no longer distinguish between what is fact and what is fantasy. It has clearly become a victim of its own propagandizing and has rendered itself inutile and an unreliable source of the truth,” he added.

In the said clash, three soldiers were killed along with six bandits, including Abu Sayyaf sub-leader Muanmar Askali alias Abu Rami.

Lorenzana added the CPP has never been a credible organization in the first place.

“Definitely, transparency is not a value they have. Just like the Plaza Miranda bombing which they hatched, executed, denied, and eventually admitted, the CPP is likely to create scenarios and will pass off these lies as the truth in order to push its selfish, anti-people and anti-government motives, such as extortion, kidnapping and intimidation. If there is a fake organization composed of individuals pretending to be patriots and nationalists — it is these communist terrorists,” he added.
