Moderate undersea quake jolts C. Indonesia
JAKARTA–An undersea quake of 5.8 magnitude rocked North Sulawesi province in central Indonesia on Monday, the meteorology and geophysics agency said.
The quake jolted at 17:38 p.m. Jakarta time (1038 GMT) with an epicenter at 188 km northeast of Talaud island and the depth of 71 km under the seabed, an official of the agency told Xinhua.
Indonesia is prone to quake as it lies on a vulnerable quake-hit zone of “the Pacific Ring of Fire.”
