MANILA—The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is mounting more job fairs this month to provide employment opportunities to jobseekers, as well as to reduce the country’s unemployment rate.

Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III said more local and overseas job vacancies await jobseekers in eight job fairs in Central Visayas this month.

“We are keen in providing employment opportunities to jobseekers, especially for the fresh graduates who are looking for their first job. This is our way to reach out to jobseekers from regional areas and we are also preparing for more job fairs nationwide,” Bello said.

According to DOLE RO7 Regional Director Exequiel R. Sarcauga, local and overseas job fairs will be held in Cebu City to further accommodate jobseekers, particularly the fresh graduates, unemployed, and displaced workers coming from different parts of the region, including Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.

Local and overseas job fairs will be held at Cebu Provincial Capitol Social Hall on March 12 and at University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu City on March 16-17.

Other job fairs will be conducted at Cebu City Sports Center and Panphil B. Frasco Memorial Sports Complex on March 18 and at Mandaue City Sports Complex on March 20.

The regional director urged jobseekers to pre-register with PhilJobNet http://philjobnet.gov.ph/ to avoid delays during the job fair.

Jobseekers are also advised to bring 2×2 photos and the original copy and photocopies of their passport, curriculum vitae, NBI clearance, training certificate, certificates of employment, PRC license, diploma, and birth certificates.

DOLE through Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) and Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) is also currently preparing for nationwide job fairs to reach out and provide employment opportunities for millions of Filipinos.
