Various IS attacks in one day
There are 55 people who were killed and more than 60 injured when a car bomb exploded in an auto dealership in Baghdad, Thursday.
According to their own news agency, Aamaq news, IS claimed responsibility for the bombing.
They said that the attack was against Shiites, a rival Muslim sect.
It has been reported that various attacks are being carried out in Iraq’s capital on a near-daily basis including other cities such as Mosul, where US-funded Iraqi forces are stationed.
On the same day, another area in Baghdad was attacked killing 8 and injured at least 30 people.
This is not the only IS-initiated attack for the day as the Sunni extremist group also claimed responsibility for the attack in Islamabad in Pakistan, where a suicide bomber blew himself up on a religious shrine killing 70 people and wounding 250 people.
However, Pakistani authorities deny IS presence in the capital but confirmed that there are militant groups who are to be held accountable for the attack.
IS said that the attack was targeted towards Sufi’s, another Muslim sect.
Pakistani authorities announced that this is the worst attack in the country in months.
