Andanar, Esperon to attend Trump inauguration
MANILA—Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar and National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon left on Tuesday for Washington DC to attend the inauguration of Donald Trump.
Andanar told Malacanang media that he and Esperon will attend “respective functions” while in the United States to attend Trump’s inauguration as the 45th US President on January 20.
“We will be performing our respective functions. We have side meetings too,” Andanar said in a text message.
Andanar said their presence was upon the invitation of Trump who was elected US President on November 9, 2016.
He said President Rodrigo Duterte will be represented by Philippine embassy Charge d’Affairs Patrick Chuasoto.
“We will report to the President the inauguration and our side meetings once we get back,” Andanar said.
Last December 3, President Duterte made a congratulatory phone call to the US President-elect.
