Mark Anthony Fernandez arrested for marijuana possession

MANILA – Movie and television actor Mark Anthony Fernandez was apprehended Monday night, October 3, in Pampanga for possession of about a kilo of marijuana.

According to police reports, Fernandez drove a Ford Mustang on the night of the incident. Upon reaching a checkpoint along MacArthur Highway at around 8 pm, the actor immediately sped off when the police started to get suspicious with the torn plastic bag in the passenger seat his car.

After a car chase, Fernandez was caught and detained at Angeles Police Station 6. Authorities were then able to retrieve a yellow plastic with marijuana residues and a mechanical grinder for marijuana from the his vehicle.

The 37-year-old actor faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. Early today, he underwent a drug test and inquest at the Prosecutor’s Office.  He, however, denied that the package containing marijuana was his.
